Joe Torre is OVERATED

Sure he's a decent manager. Sure he's a nice guy, but he is highly overrated. Look at what he did when he managed the Mets, Braves, and St. Louis. He managed the Mets for 5 seasons and hovered around a .400 winning percentage(bottom of the division). He inhereted a good Braves team and the winning percentage dropped each year he was there and managed the Cardinals to a below .500 winning percentage(.478) over 6 years( he leaves after they finished in 4th place in the division and then they win the division the next year with La Russa).

Then he manages a Yankee team with the highest payroll in MLB in a then weak division and gets a winning percentage. Then the Red Sox became competitive and raise their payroll , no more WS Wins. sure the Yanks got into the playoffs, but lost in the first round '05-'07. I could have managed that team into the playoffs with that talent.

Another fact: What is the ONLY team ever, in any of the major sports, to have a 3-0 lead in a playoff series and lose? yes, that's right. The Joe Torre managed Yankees

How does a team with that payroll/talent not make it into the WS? The Yankees wondered the same thing which explains their "insult"ing contract offer with incentive bonuses for each round totaling $5 MM per year for 3 years. "INSULT"? maybe the yanks should have just fired Torre.

The Dodgers got into the playoff due to a weak division. the Dodgers had a below .500 record before Manny comes over and then they win the division with a weak record and the Diamondbacks losing the lead. For most of the year there were 12-13 teams in MLB that had records that would have been in first in the NL West. How are Torre's moves paying off in the NLCS this year? not too good.
